Situated in the very heart of Dunedin’s Octagon precinct - and within easy walking distance of the city’s finest hotels, cafes and restaurants - the Dunedin Public Art Gallery is the city’s premier venue for corporate events, conferences, seminars, lunches, cocktail functions and dinners.

Donaghys foyer with its 17m high atrium and glass ceiling offers a unique space for receptions, formal celebrations, dinners and cocktail events. The foyer can accommodate up to 300 guests for cocktails, 200 guests for dinner and is available for hire after 5pm.

The Otago Daily Times Gallery, on the second floor, has magnificent views over the lower gallery spaces and the tree-lined Octagon precinct. The Otago Daily Times Gallery can be used as a stand-alone venue for up to 160 guests and can also be combined with the Auditorium. The Otago Daily Times Gallery can be used for break-out sessions, catering and trade displays. This space is available for both daytime and evening events, seven days a week.

The Gallery Auditorium is available for films, lectures, presentations and small performances. The room contains a large professional projection screen and seating for up to 160 theatre style and 60 cafe/classroom style.

The Gallery is fully licensed and clients receive very generous discounts from our preferred vineyard: Quartz Reef.
